Hello!
My name is Debbie & this is how my small cross stitch
company came about. I bought my first cross stitch kit in
1993 and not quite knowing what I was letting myself in for,
I chose Teresa Wentzler's Summer Carousel Horse. For those
that don't know, this is approximately 18 x 14 inches, stitched
on 32-count linen with blending, metallic threads, a huge
number of fractional stitches and lots of backstitch, and
it still isn't finished ( I lost the chart years ago and have
only recently acquired a replacement, my excuse and I'm sticking
to it!)
But
a love of cross stitch was born and after a few years my creative
leanings led me to experiment with designing some small charts
until I eventually decided in 2004 to give up my job &
try my hand at designing full time. I spent years working
with children which is probably why my designs are quite simplistic,
bold & bright! I love spending hours on the computer turning
my ideas in to workable charts and then I have the pleasure
of sewing the designs and seeing them come to life. And now,
with the help of my fabulous husband Matt, I've progressed
enough to have my own website! (Thanks to Pete for doing such
a great job setting it up)
As
for the name, it's in honour of one of our rather cuddly cats
who is affectionately known as fat cat!
